Question:

How do I get yahoo groups to recognize e-mail addresses beginning with "info"?

I invite or try to add people with an e-mail address of:

info@host.com

And I always get an error message saying it is not a valid e-mail address. Well, I know it is valid, since I correspond with these folks frequently. For some reason any e-mail address beginning with the word "info" gets rejected.

Have a hard time writing to these folks and telling them that yahoo doesn't feel that their address is valid.

Any ideas????

Can't seem to find any other information so am hoping someone else knows how to add these folks to yahoogroups.

  1. Most email servers including Yahoo's filter out email addresses beginning with the word "info" which they recognize as spam.

  2. No generic addresses: Email addresses such as webmaster@domain.com or postmaster@domain.com cannot be used to join a group. Messages from Groups should be personal and should not use email addresses which commonly recycled within an organization. In addition, spammers commonly target these addresses. For all these reasons, we disallow their user on the service.
