  1. The dialing sequence you use to call the UK from USA depends on the city area code in the UK.

    International access code is 011

The country code for UK is 44

A short list of examples, set out in the officially approved (Ofcom) number groups:

    011_44__Number

    (20) xxxx xxxx  ____London

    (29) xxxx xxxx  ____Cardiff

    (117) x*x xxxx  ____Bristol

    (131) x*x xxxx  ____Edinburgh

    (1382) x*x x*x  ____Dundee

    (1386)  xxxxxx  ____Evesham

    (15396)  xxxxx  ____Sedbergh

    (16977)   xxxx  ____Brampton

  2. if you dial directly from your phone ( not a calling card) you dial 011 then the country code 44 and then the phone number....but calling with a calling card would be much cheaper....!

    011+44+city-code+number

  3. Use calling cards or this service (Send Global).

If you added international calling on your phone calling direct is expensive but using third party services is much cheaper..

  4. you can buy a prepaid phone card then call the number in the card then it will ask you for the uk number then dial the uk number and boom
