I believe it is 7 years for improved land 20 years for wilderness. Get an attorney.

In Massachusetts..it is 20 years of open and contiguous usage. You can pay the taxes if any are owed. Then file with your county clerks office....for a title of adverse possession. You will have a few problems that could pop up...so read the law...before you go ahead. tagger
