Question:

How do I go about collecting child support arrears?

My son's father is not paying at all. He is in arrears to the tune of $34,000 (or more). I don't know his address although I do know what town he lives in. He does not work, I tried to have him located by a private investigator but I ran out of money. His driver's license has been suspended (but he does not drive anyway) and his bank account has been frozen. All of this has done nothing for me. New York State says they can't help me unless I find out where he lives or works. I cannot afford a lawyer. Any suggestions on how to find this scumbag and get what is owed to my son?

  1. Check with your Court, to see if you have a "Court Facilitators" office, which helps, people, acting, "IN PRO PER", create legal documents to be filed in Court, for their particular situation.  I would file an emergency order for child support arrears by publication, obtain a judgment for such and file it with the County Recorders Office, open a case with the DA. Regarding relatives, I would change my relationship with them by becoming a, "Family Member", not the women that had a baby and just want money. Relationships goes further with families and then they help put bugs in ears or give his were about.  The man has to eat, party, go to church, etc. and someone knows something. Let Grandparents, sister, brothers, know your child and how beautiful he/she is and how he/she looks and acts just like their kin. Be real in the relationship(s).  Also, the internet, as you can see, is a wonderful source of information.  Put blogs out about him, go to websites that might give you information about him.  Keep in contact  with the DA, be on their back. Do a goggle search with his name, relatives names as he may be living with someone?

  2. well one when was the last time you where in contact with him?

does he have a cell phone (these days you can trace a phone number using gps by a computer program or iphones or itouches)or do you no any friend of his or family member that knows of his recent where abouts? the only hope is finding where these govement papers (mail)are going to such as bills, bank statements or junk mail are going to?

but since he has almost completely vanished realistically im not giving much hope but i do hope you find that dead beat and get waht he owes or son
