  1. Actually, you can not emancipate yourself. At the age of 16 your parents can sign to have you emancipated, if they wish. Or, if you can provide proof as to why you should be emancipated, you can file a civil claim at your local court. Make sure you have money for an attorney. Your parents, most likely, are not going to pay for it. If the judge feels it is the right thing to do then he/she can emancipate you. Hope this helps.
