How do I go about getting a Sperm Test?

My wife and I are trying to conceive and her Doctor told her that I need to go get a sperm test done to make sure we cover all areas. I think this is so embarrassing. Is there any way I can do this with out 'YOU KNOW" ?

ask your doctor where to get it done at. Don't be embarrassed, there is nothing to be embarrassed about, its perfectly normal and a lot of males do it all the time.

You have to go to the Dr and they will order the test to be done then you will have to wait 3 days without s*x but not to exceed 5 days then some Dr's want you to do it in the office there and some will have you do it at home and then bring it in within a hour. Its really nothing to be embarrassed about my hubby has had to have plenty and normally the men are ok and don't have to do them to many time but the long it take to get pregnant the more you will have to have them done. They normally just check like every 6 months to make sure nothing has changed. Good luck!

Just go to your doctor.  S/he can get you an appointment for a sperm analysis.  Its not big deal.  Don't be embarrassed.  If we women can survive letting a doctor sit between our legs once a year, then the least you could do is make a deposit in a little plastic cup.  lol

the at home tests don't check your morph rate which is very important..

if you are too embarrassed to do it in a cup and take it in then you are not prepared for parenthood, it can be down right humiliating at times!!

Contact your local urologist to schedule a s***n analysis.  You may need a written prescription form from your wife's doctor in order to get this test done.  You can collect the sample at home as long as you get it to the clinic within a half hour.  You can pick up the specimen cup and a bag before doing the test.

The doc should of gave you guys paperwork. Just do your thing in a cup Make sure it's not more than 30 minutes old. Do it at home or at the hospital. Give it to the nurse, tell them what Dr it's for, give them the paperwork and leave. Why are you embarrassed? You basically get to do your favorite thing in a cup and the woman has to go through all the painful testing. Do it for her. Good Luck to both of you :-)

you can buy a home testing kit which tests your sperm count, mobility and motility.  its accurate and pretty cheap.  check out ebay or sites like www.insemination-help.com

My doctor referred me to a clinic that they recommend so I called and scheduled a analysis for my husband and they day of the scheduled analysis I took a HPT because I knew how apprehensive he was about the appointment and it was positive.  If you make the appointment see if your wife can come with you to make it a little less embarrassing and a team effort.  Good Luck
