  1. you need to audition first, visit the websites or ring up some major ballet schools that hold summer intensives.

if you are in the US...for example, Kirov, Boston, Joffrey, Cincinnati, Orlando, PNB, The Rock are some examples of some.

It's best to read around because some intensives suit different people.

You'd then have to enrol (maybe pay a fee) then go along to their audition. Of course it depends if you get in - then you can go! A lot of people audition for many SIs and then pick one they'd like to go to.

    Good luck :)

  2. All of the major ballet intensives advertise their audition schedules in the January edition of Dance Magazine - which is on newsstands sometime in December. You might consider subscribing now in order to start reading up on what's going on in the dance world. Then the audition issue will just arrive at your home. Be prepared to dash out to the first auditions right after New Year's. The main audition season spans from January through March.

Dance Magazine also maintains a listing of summer intensives on their website:

    http://www.dancemagazine.com/

Click on "Summer Study Guide" and start web-surfing to the programs' web sites to read up on what they offer, acceptance requirements, costs, etc.
