How do I go about obtaining a title for my boat?

I bought it a few years ago, and i think the lien holder (the bank) kept the title. I've paid it off a while back, but either the bank never sent me the title, or i lost it. how do i go about obtaining a new one?

  1. How new is it?If 10 years old you can write a bill of sale.Although you should check dmv to see if the boat is wanted leased or etc.

  2. Go to the bank and show your proof of pay off and they will sign a lost title for you you will need the lost title paper work from the DMV, God Bless

  3. You have to go to the DMV and they can give you all the paperwork you will ever want. If its just a lost title the DMV will have a record of it and can issue a new one without the banks participation. If you have proof of the payoff that will help, if not go to the bank and have them come up with it.

  4. Contact your local Department of Natural Resources
