How do I go about repairing my wristwatch??

I recently bought a watch that does not directly come from a large chain watch company, I believe it was independently made from NBC (it's a Heroes watch). . .anyways, once in a short while the second-pointer would get stuck and stop working making the time off completely unless I hit the watch making it work again, so what should I do? Btw, I've checked and there's no way for me to open the watch unless I hire an expert or something. . .help!

  1. Unfortunately, these kind of watches are often badly made and it can be difficult and not cost effective to have it repaired. Is the second hand getting stuck on another hand? If so, this is down to the way the hands have been set and can be easily shifted by a watchmaker. If not, it may be down to the battery. Have you tried getting it changed? Cells can deteriorate and cause problems in the movement. This is why it is recommended that you have it changed before it stops (usually every 18 months).

At the end of the day you need to find someone with the tools to get inside the case. In the UK we have places called The Watch Hospital, or Watch Lab. Find somewhere like this, these are often in malls or shopping centres. Usually, I wouldn't recommend going to one of these places, but in this case I don't see that you have much choice.

Unless you can contact the manufacturer (if you can actually work out who made it-even if it was NBC, they will have commissioned somewhere, usually these products are Japanese) and see if they will offer some kind of after sales care.
