Question:

How do I go about reporting a Police Officer for abuse of authority and Harassment???

For some unknown reason, an African American

police office targeted me for stoppage.

I was at an intersection, waiting to get into the lane,

but the cars were heavy, and preventing me

from going; As I was waiting, I realized

that this Cop was circling around what looks

like two or three times, waiting for me to enter

the lane; He coordinated it so

that he would be right behind me, hiding

behind another car; As I entered the lane,

he sprung into action with his

clearly pre-determined intent to

cause trouble for me.

When he pulled me over, he concocted

the bogus excuse that I didn't have

my seat belt on, which was a lie, because I

did have it on the entire time, and from his

position, he wouldn't have seen if I had

it on or not anyway.

How do I report this Cop for Abuse of

Authority and harassment, an do so without

him knowing I filed the report? I want it private,

cause I think he is corrupt, and he knows were

I live, and he has a gun and a badge.

  1. Good luck. It would be better to leave it alone.  But go ahead and try. And you right he has a gun and badge and knows where you live.  I would drop it.

  2. I don't think the cop abused his authority. What would you complain about? He pulled you over. I think many black go through worse things with white officers. For you I think you have a problem against blacks being officers. That cop will one day save your life so give some respect to good cops.

  3. you need to contact your county or go on the web site.

there is a process. you need to fill out a citizens complaint against the cop.

in MD where I live, its called a 1072 citizens complaint form and you can get it from all libraries or police stations. In my state, you have to get it notarized if you are claiming harrassment or abuse. I am not sure if its the same in your state.

They do a complete investigation and it affects cop's end of the year raises and bonuses. I always threaten them with reporting them when they use abusive language and they quickly change their demeanor. many officers dont think people know their rights and they do whatever they want because of it.

  4. Is this a poem?

From reading this I see zero harassment and zero abuse of authority. Perhaps you could explain why you getting pulled over is harassment and abuse of authority. And you think this officer is corrupt based off of one traffic stop?

Or is it the fact that the officer is African-American?

I hope that you file a complaint with these allegations. If I were the officer I would be contacting my union attorney with a view to suing you for malicious slander and defamation of character. Last POS criminal who filed a false complaint on me settled for an amount that allowed me to buy a new car.

Regular folks aren't watching the cops non-stop for however long it took him to circle you. Perhaps because you were rubber necking your driving sucked...

  5. You've wrote a big long story here but NOTHING states you suffered any loss.  What are you damages?

I'd say let it go and get over it ... you will be much happier.  Sounds like an isolated incident.

  6. the FBI handles these cases since the locals usually protect itself

  7. He has a right to know who files a complaint if you do. If you really did have your seat belt on, fight the ticket in court.

  8. you cant fight it in court. the cops the government and the court are all one entity, protecting each others arses. if you go to court all they will tell you is "the officers recollection of events differs to yours" before trying to steal another $130 for 'court costs'. just dont pay the fine. and it would pay to keep your money in cash too, they tend to hack your bank account and steal money directly if you refuse to pay them their ransom willingly.

  9. Luckily I don't need to be the one to decide if you suffered a loss or were harassed ...

You can certainly file a complaint with his supervisor. The sup is the lucky one who gets to decide if there was misconduct. You will not be able to do it anonymously as they will pull your citation (please tell me he at least cited you if you're taking the time to write this) but the officer will not be told who it is.

If you continue to have trouble or feel that you have not received satisfactory resolution, you can always ask to go up the chain of command.
