How do I go about setting up a registered charity?

First of all, try and find out if a charity already exists which is doing, or could do the work you want to do.

Setting up a charity is a big responsibility - you need at least 3 trustees who understand their role and with a variety of skills in finance, project management, charity law, etc. The CC will not register an organisation as a charity until its turnover reaches £5000 and you have been given the link to its website.

Get help, eg from your local CVS or other umbrella organisatioon.
