How do I go from a community college to a university?

I am in high school an I'm on the tech path. I want to go to a community college for a while. then I would like to go to a bigger college. would i be able to do this, since i was not on the university path?

  1. Many CC's have transfer agreements with the universities. It is also cheaper to go to CC for your first 2 years.


  2. Yeah, people do that a lot I think.  The most important thing is to make sure the classes you're taking are transferable to the university you want to go to.  Some community colleges are geared for entrance to universities (e.g. Montgomery College for Univ. of MD College Park)

  3. oh yeah. most definitely. well it depends on the curriculum of the college. states differ from each other. but in california they prep you up in hopefully two years or so if you are a full-time student for the university. you just need to take all the classes for your major to graduate and fulfill and the other requirements needed to get in the school you want to and boom, you are all set.  

  4. Yes. You will be able to do that... Your school that you are wanting to go to should have a transfer counselor that will help you sort out your degree plan that will transfer from your 2 year school to the 4 year school that you want to go to. As long as the 2 year you are going to is accredited it shouldn't be a problem.
