  1. There are a lot of different ways to pick up a snake.  You should try a few and see which one the snake seems to mind the least.  Feed it every one to two weeks.

  2. For grabbing it, you can use a snake hook. If the snake is tame, you can reach in and grab it, but it's always a good idea to avoid going head on because you might scare it and cause it to strike when it sees a hand coming at its head. If it's not completely tame, you can also try placing a towel over its head and grabbing it. It can't see you , so it won't bite.

As for feeding, I'd give it one appropriately sized meal a week and when it gets a little bigger, I'd cut down to every two weeks. Do not wait until it goes "p**p" as one answerer said. My older boas and pythons may only go every month or two, and I'm not going to wait two months for it to go to the bathroom before I feed it. You should feed your snake on a consistent schedule regardless of when it goes to the bathroom.

  3. Well if its a tame snake...just reach in and touch it first to let it know your there and just pick it up....

If its not a tame snake....you will probably want to get some snake grabbers....

as for feeding...when it poops feed it. Thats really all i can tell you without a little more history on the snake...

did it belong to someone else, did you buy it at a pet store?

    What kind of boa?

sorry i couldnt help more if i knew more i could.

also never handle a snake till 48 hours after feeding

  5. As long as you have a calm environment and the snake is not stressed, you should reach in and gently let your snake know you are there! I don't recommend grabbing it as it may not like it!!!! Reach down and gently but firmly lift your snake from the back underneath (as picking up from the front could cause the snake to be head shy and in turn it could strike out) As for feeding if its young once a week should suffice!! hope i have been some help!
