I need to be able to graph in on a 4 quadrant graph and I have no idea what to do; by the way, the I in the equation stands for the absolute value so it is f(x)=absolute value of 2x+3. Thanks!

  1. If what's in the absolute value is positive, then the absolute value does nothing.  If it's negative, then the absolute value reverses the sign.  So:

    2x + 3 >= 0

    2x >= -3

    x >= -3/2

    -3/2 is the break point.  On the right, your function is just 2x + 3.  On the left, it's -2x - 3.
