I bought some Georgia peaches that were out of this world and I saved the pitts. They're being dried out as we speak. What doI do next?

  1. Wrap them in paper towels and get them wet.  Then wrap in plastic for a few days.  Keep checking to see if they grow roots or not.  Once the roots are about 3 - 4" long, plant them in a pot.  Once they start growing into a tree, you can transplant into the ground.  Use a fruit tree fertilizer like Oskote for fruit trees.

This will save you lots of time wondering if they are growing or not, rather than digging holes and hoping!

  2. Most peach trees are grafted on to root stock.  The tree you grow may or may not provided the peaches you want if any.
