How do I handle my depression?

I've never seen a psychiartrist because I'm really afraid to see one. Lately things have just been overwhelming, I converted religions and I felt a lot better for a month or so. This week, things have bee hectic. I find myself crying for no reason. I feel so alone and empty. I hate this feeling but I'm way too scared to see a psychiatrist (the idea of being alone in a room with someone freaks me out). Is there anything I ca do to stop this feeling of desperation and worthlessness from swallowing me whole?

  2. Honestly hun I'm going through the same thing. I feel exactly like you do. The only thing I feel like I can do is pray and try to better myself. Take care of yourself. Try not to focus on sad things try to focus on yourself on where you would like to go with your life. I know it's hard trust me I know but you can either sit there in pain or try to snap out of it. Therapy can help I have done that before but it would take many many sessions to help. That could costs alot of money. What I do is just workout try getting some kind of hobby that you can enjoy. Dont worry hun I'm sure that in the long run you'll be ok things might seem hard right now but they will change. Try to love yourself! try to let go of illogical thoughts.

  5. I have experienced the exact same thing. I would cry for no reason and become severly depressed. I took paxil for my depression and anxiety and it saved my life. I would recomend therapy. medication should be a last resort.

  6. HONESTLY U SHOULD PRAY ABOUT AND DONT BE AFRAID TO GO TO A PSYCHIATRIST THEY WILL GIVE U MEDICATION THAT WILL HELP U FEEL BETTER

  7. Try reading "Feeling Good - The New Mood Therapy," by David D. Burns, M.D.  Honestly, it has really helped me.  The book teaches you that your thoughts dictate how you feel.. so if you're constantly berating yourself, you'll feel awful.  And then it teaches you writing exercises that help you to combat your thoughts.  I found the book a great alternative to medicine and highly recommend trying it.  Best of luck and smile.. it'll all be ok!!  :)
