How do I have a different eye color than both my parents?

Me- Brown

Mom- Hazel

Grandpa- Hazel

Grandma- Brown

Dad- Blue

Grandpa- Blue

Grandma- Hazel

Also, my eyes aren't even light brown. They are dark brown. How did I end up with a different eye color than both my parents?

  1. You obviously have the gene that makes you have brown eyes; from your Grandma. Some genes can lay dorment when passed on, so your Grandma passed on the gene for brown eyes to your mum, but the gene lay dorment in your mums DNA, but has been passed on to you and reactivated.
