Hi,

I have a swollen tooth and it hurts pretty bad, it never bleeds though, but its red and tender. I have got braces on and the swelling has separated my tooth from the tooth next to it.The swelling is spreading on my tooth and i don't know whether that's from the braces or from my teeth. What should i do? Is there some home made recipe i can make and apply to my tooth?

  1. Go back to the Orthodontist so he can see what is wrong..Could be that your gum area could be infected, you need to get some medication.

  2. get some sugar and salt about 10 table spoons of vinigar, pinch of sand, half a cup of fizzy drink, and swill it round your mouth works perfectly

  3. Floss it and make sure there's nothing in there causing the inflammation, then swish around some hydrogen peroxide. If the swelling doesn't go down after a day of that, go to the dentist!

  4. You really must go see a dentist, as soon as possible, like Tuesday.  If you call them they may be able to see you on an emergency basis.

Meanwhile, any drugstore will have over-the-counter products to help, for example, Anbesol to relieve the pain.
