How do I hear my self sing with audacity?

When I select the background music and then record my self singing with the music, after I play it back I cant hear my self singing? I only hear the music, does anyone know how to fix this?

maybe there is a way of making your recorded sound louder tan the backing music

Audacity allows mixing of tracks.  And you can set the volume of each track independently.  Make sure that the track with your voice on it has enough volume.  If it isn't, you can select the data in the track and increase the volume.  You may have to select the music track and lower it's volume.  Save the original data, so you can try multiple experiments.
