I am a single mom who has 2 boys, 10 & 12, my 12 year old is and has been obsessed

with his feet, I dont know how this happend but I did, for the past 8 months he has been like this, this all started when one day he came home and took his shoes and socks off, normaly he never did, but he would go all day and all night in his barefeet, I saw him in his room l*****g his feet and sucking on his toes, intensely! He would do this everyday 3 times or more a day, I found out

that he is attracted to his feet, he told me, he has several hundred pics of his feet on his walls of his room, he traces his feet daily, he

sucks on his thumbs and bites his fingernails and toenails for some strange reason, I asked him what is wrong and he says he cant help it, he is very sweet kid, He doesnt really have alot of friends, because I am in a rural area where I live, last thing he says he has been doing this for 4 years without my knowledge. Thank you So much!!!!

  1. This kid needs help. Serious help.

  2. he is messed up get him some conselling

  3. its alright! its totally normal for someone to develop a fetish, especially a foot fetish. many times it is spontaneously triggered, whether it be he sees someone else's feet or his own.  just talk to him and don't belittle his personal opinion. You will never "fix" it, but you can explain that this kind of thing is personal and that he needs to keep it that way, remove the pictures and such. it also seems that this may be a bit excessive (the hundreds of pictures and the tracing and such) just ask if he would like to talk to someone whether it be a professional or even you.

  4. I think its a fetish...Some people get them and eventually most of them will outgrow it. Talk to him and tell him what u think of it (that its not normal in your opinion). If it gets worse and u feel the need to, have him see a professional or psychiatrist about it. I truley dont think thats necessary right now cuz I believe he will outgrow this.

  5. OCD.  He needs a doctor to help him with this.

  6. i think he need some medical attention.pls bring him to a Dr

  7. whoa. sounds like me when i was 8...its jsut a temporary thing. it wont last. dont bother going to a child psychiatrist, and dont perscribe him anything! it'll go away. i was obsessed with my knees for about 2 years. jsut a some kids pass thru.

  8. It might be OCD, obessisive compulsive disorder.

If it doesn't affect his daily life, his cognitive skills and interactions, its alright and also since you guys have been going on 4 years without knowing. (means it isn't affecting much of his life, not so much for you to notice)

If the obsession troubles himself--- seek help. But if he's alright with it, then its similar to maybe your obsession with a certain TV show and my obsession with chocolate chip ice-cream.

  9. wtf you kid is weird please tell me that was a joke

  10. womens feet i could understand a bit, but his own??? when he sleeps put something on his feet with the most discusting taste ever! maybe he'll stop.

  11. I think it is time to bring this up with a proffessional. I don't recommend this lightly but this is past what is normal

  12. just talk to him!~ you can do it!~ get er done!~
