How do I hit on hot guys/girls in Paris?

I've read how the French avoid unnecessary eye contact with strangers on the streets in order not to lead someone into thinking it's something more. They also don't smile to strangers. So how do I hit on attractive people in Paris without coming off as weird or promiscuous? Is it too bold if I (a girl) smile at a hot guy?

I dont know but this does not seem to be true. Maybe in Paris but France is bigger than that. I like the cordiality (warmness) of Northern France where people more often start speaking to you...I was in southern france...and hated it:) Despite all the beautiful cliches and juicy descriptions.

Maybe you should get a cute dog, it is easier then:)

The best thing you could do is just be happy and confident.  Then people will want to get to know you.
