  1. It depends on what you want to get out of them. Hooked in parallel they will give you 6 volts but higher amperage. Hooked in series they will give you 12 volts but the amperage would be the same. It would be hard to describe how to hook them up either way without being able to provide you with a diagram.

  2. i am not sure why you want to but if you are going for a 12 volt system positive of one to the negative of the other and then your power wires to the remaining posts. now if you are trying to increase the amps available then you go positive to positive negative to negative and power wires to the closest post.

  3. How you hook them together depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

Batteries in parallel -> The (-) terminals connected together and (+) terminals connected together effectively double the current sourcing capability while maintaining a 6V output voltage. Each battery is sourcing 1/2 the current draw when in use. Be careful though to avoid drawing excessive current as the heat buildup might cause one or both batteries to explode. Also, when charging, charge each separately - same reason...

Batteries in series provide the sum of the voltages , i.e. 12V, but at the maximum current sourcing of a single battery. Again, be careful of current draw and charge each separately.
