The VHS on the combo doesn't work and I got a brand new VHS player. I'm trying to hook up the new VHS player to the TV. Which cord do I put where? Remember, the cords are already hooked up to the combo.(P.S.-Use adjectives to describe:)

  1. So many possibilities!

I am going to make some assumptions here: you are using the 3 RCA connectors labelled "Video", "Audio L" and "Audio R" to connect the combo unit to the TV.

If you have a newer TV, it may have other inputs that you could use.  There may be another set of RCA jacks labelled "aux" or something like that.  There may also be a jack marked "S-Video".  In either of these cases, you may be able to connect the second VHS player to one of these.

If yours is an older TV and doesn't have any extra inputs, then you need an "A/V Switcher".  This is basically a switchbox that can connect your TV to two different devices by pressing a button or turning a rotary switch.  They should be available fairly cheaply - under $20.  You connect the Combo unit to one of the inputs on the switcher, connect the new VHS unit to another input, and connect the switcher outputs to the TV.

If any of my assumptions are incorrect, or if this is not clear, please provide more information.
