How do I hook up a ps3 to my tv?

My tv isn't a HD tv and I have put the right cords into the right slots but it still won't work, am I doing something wrong? How can I get this stupid thing to work?

Make sure the other end is plugged into the PS3, and make sure you're not using the HDMI cables.

maybe there a special channel you go to like on my old tv for the game  i got to go to channel 91 to play my game or got to option  or look on your remote for input whateva it says

I just bought mine 2 days ago (80gb)...at first hook up it did not work either...its hooked up to an older TV..I needed to use my RFU adapter (the same one I had on my PS2)...and presto it worked fine, sometimes hooking from the PS cosole DIRECTLY to the TV does not work...call the local game trader store and ask about RFU adapters.
