I want to get a projector and hook it up to a hard drive with a unch of movies on it, and watch the movies on the projector, but I do not know what to look for when shopping for projectors. Are there special cables that I need? Inputs? Outputs?

Is there a way to do this without using a computer also? Please help! One of my teachers has a projetor and watches movies on them by way of hard drive, and I have no clue how to hook one up, or what to look for.

  1. I'm not aware of anyway to watch movies with just an HDD. The movies may be stored on the HDD but still need programs that need the rest of the computer to run. You can plug the external HDD into a computer or PS3 and plug those into the projector and watch movies off the external HDD.

  2. Well.. you can buy a fta receiver and record it from there.. but you must consider that you will need a pvr reciever like the captiveworks 800 or the SonicView 360 Elite.. then you can hook up the hard drive from a usb from there.  a projector is just like a TV..

I'm going to finish that page today.. we accept all major credit cards.

  3. What you need is this little baby... or one like it.

A multimedia external hard drive with the software built in that plays many different types.
