How do I hook up another phone jack?

I just have one phone number and that's all i need, but i want to have a phone in 2 different rooms and my modem in another.

Call a phone company and have them install it if there not an extra one in your house.

You can do it yourself.  You can get the jack and wire you need at Radio Shack or most other electronics stores.  All you have to do is remove the plate from the working jack.  There are four colored wires inside (red, green, black and yellow).  Connect the wires the same way -- red to red, green to green, etc.  At the other end, do the same thing.  The hardest part is usually running the wire in such a way that it's concealed.

However, if you aren't confident with this, call the phone company.  They charge by the hour, but it usually doesn't take long to put in an extension jack.
