How do I hook up my Edifier M1550 Speakers to my tv, vcr, and other things?

I got them for christmas and my tv is old so i run everything through my VCR. The speakers came with a subwoofer that has a rear panel where all the outputs are. The cables that have to plug into the tv are green black and orange. Please help.

all of these things are meant to be plugged into a receiver that will power them (outside the sub which may be powered itself). all of your components (tv, vcr, dvd, video games, cd player, computer, etc, etc) should have their audio outputs going to the receiver, from there it's a simple click of the remote to choose which is playing through your speakers.
