How do I hook up my HD antenna?

The HD reciever I bought came without instructuons. There is one cable on the antenna and noplace to plug anything into it. Where do I plug in this wire?

  1. By receiver do you mean the digital converter box?  If so, there should be 2 connectors on the back of the box.  One should be labeled "Antenna In"  and the other should be labeled "TV Out" or something very like that.  Disconnect the antenna from your TV and connect it to the antenna in connector on the converter box.  Connect the jumper wire that should have been with the converter to the TV out and connect the other end to your TV antenna input.  Turn both the converter box and your TV on and set the TV to channel 3 and see if you have any picture.  If not, try channel 4.  The converter will one of the other of those channels.  Use the converter box control to do a scan for digital channels.  When done it should give you a list of what it can receive.  Leave the TV channel alone.  You'll change channels with the converter box, not the TV tuner.  If there was no jumper cable with the converter box you can get one from Radio Shack.  

    Some converters will have composite and S video outputs as well.  If your TV is equipped with one of these inputs you can use that method of connection.
