How do I hook up my car flip out screen dvd player so I can watch movies while I drive?

  1. Most flip out DVD players have a wire that needs to be connected to the park brake wire, so that movies will only play when the park brake is on.

    To cure this, connect this wire to the ground wire, it tricks the system into thinking the park brake is on and will allow you to play movies whenever you want.

    I had to do this to my stereo because I used my DVD player to display my GPS, and the screen wouldn't turn on unless the park brake was on.

    EDIT: Unfortunately, I put a in dash DVD screen in my car for 2 reasons. 1 was so that I could run my GPS through the stereo, so the sound was louder, and the picture was bigger, and also, so that I could connect 2 external monitors, on the back of each headrest, so that I could play movies for kids/passengers in the back seat while we were driving.

    Unless I did this little 'cheat' all we got was a blue screen.
