How do I hook up my xbox 360 to a surround sound system?

i have a standard xbox 360 with no add-ons or anything. Right next to it, I have a Bose Lifestyle Surround Sound sytsyem. I don't know how to hook up my 360 to the system though. Can anyone help? Thanks

For optimal sound, you should use an optical cable for a direct hook up of your xbox 360 to your home theater system. Many televisions do not properly pass along the correct signal (in the case of your xbox, dolby surround) to the home theater system.

Your surround sound should only have to be hooked up to your t.v. If it is, you shouldn't have any problem.

on the video cable connector on the back of the xbox 360 you have an optical output connect that to an input in the Bose maybe you have to assign the digital input on the lifestyle because sometimes is setup on analog by default, do the same in the xbox menu.

Use Optical Cable that offers true surround sound with 5.1 Dolby Mix. Make sure your Xbox has it
