  1. It won't constantly pester you to make it "genuine".

    Go to windowsupdate.microsoft.com and download the WGA Validation Tool.  If it isn't "genuine", you'll know it real quick.


  2. go to control panel and system, or the computer or the cd case should have a genuine microsoft windows sticker. if you are not sure call microsoft  

  3. by bring up microsoft info

  4. Buy from a genuine source.
