How do I import videos from a DIGITAL CAMERA?

I need to import it on a Windows vista computer. not windows xp. please help.

  1. You mean digital camera as a still camera, or digital camcorder as a video camera?

    Basically, you do it exactly the same way as in XP, no difference. From digital still camera you just put the memory card in card reader, videos are either mpeg or 3gp files (3gp need to convert to mpeg). just copy them.

    Digital camcorder aka miniDV - connect via firewire (you need firewire cable and card if your comp does not have one), open windows movie maker (same in vista as in XP) navigate into "capture" section, choose your camcorder in pull down menu as "video source" and play the tape in videocamera and it will capture in computer.

    No drivers needed, firewire drivers ARE INCLUDED in both XP and Vista.

    Just remember you do need a lot of space - one miniDV tape = 12-13 gb file...
