How do I impress my volleyball coach?

My coach is a serious (SERIOUS) guy. He's the kind that doesn't smile, doesn't say anything and has the reputation of having a bit of a temper. But he's a VERY GOOD Varsity coach, and I REALLY wanna play on varsity this year. I'm good I know I am but with this coach it just might be impossible. So how do I pull this one off?

  1. Just hustle all the time and offer to demonstate things! Always try to be in the frint of the line! Keep ur mind on volleyball dont think of other distractions and do get a bad attitude! Dont get down after u s***w up just get it right the next time! Hope this helped! GOOD LUCK!

  2. dont stress about it. just show him what youve got and try to stand out. if you can, wear neon socks and a frilly ribbon so he remembers you. always hussel, be loud and on your toes, be ready for anything. stay confident, encourage your teammates, shag balls, etc. do anything to stand out and make him remember you.

  3. i play volleyball to but the coaches barally put me in....until at practice when we ran i tryed to be in the front as much as i can and i dug for a lot of the balls when they were low and i practiced setting on the side of my house but setting the ball agenst the wall its really easy and they'll think you really want to play.

  4. be sure to call everything!! not just when the ball comes to you!!! if you are serve receive call deep or short and call out hits if you are front row

also dive for every thing the coach will take notice if you hit the floor on everything, but dont' do it if you dont' have to cuz then you'll look stupid!! :D

  5. Try  really, really hard. I mean really push yourself to the limit. Do everything he says and don't talk back. Take all of his advice on playing. Don't giggle when you make a mistake.

  6. Ok. CALL THE BALL!! That is one of the best things you can do. Also really hustle! Always be running, like if you are shagging or chasing after a ball. Coachs love to see that you can hustle.

Push you self! always try no matter what you are doing! If he sees that you are really ready to put in the extra effort to win and get better there is no way he wont like you.

Focus all the time!! Dont be thinking about other things that might distract you!!! He needs to see that you are willing to really get better

LISTEN!!!!! That is one of the most important things!!!!! He NEEDS to see that you truly want to get better and that you respect him but listening to what he has to say!

i have had a coach just like this and i did all of these things!

hope this helps! good luck with varsity
