Question:

How do I improve splits and scorpion??

I really want to be flexible. I have danced in the past, at one point I could do the splits, but I didn't stretch or push myself anymore and I couldn't do them.

Then I can do a scorpion, but, I can't do it very good.

Any great stretches to improve flexibility, exercises and other stuff.

Thanks ( I also say this because I am thinking of starting up dance again.)

  1. for the splits do not lie down with your legs vertical against a wall because that is actually bad for your knees. you should straddle though and stretch forward and to each of your sides. :] it took me 2months to learn the side splits and now im working on the center splits.

for the scorpion just stretch your neck and back. im teaching myself how to do the scorpion and i almost have it but this site below is really helpful idk if you have seen it already but this is what I use for all of my yoga stuff. http://www.santosha.com/asanas/scorpion....

  2. for the splits lie down with your legs vertical against a wall. spread your legs  as far as you can (gravity helps) and lie there for a few minutes every day.

for the scorpion you need back flexibility, so do back bends and try to straighten your legs, bring them together and push your chest out in the back bend.

it's important to do some jumping jacks or run in place to get you muscles warm before you stretch, and stretch as often as possible. every day is ideal. good luck!
