  1. Another thing... use a block of wood between a propeller blade and the cavitation plate to keep the prop from turning while you take the nut off. Some have a locking washer that has 3 tabs that have to be bent  before you can turn the nut.


  2. In addition to what the first poster said some small units have a threaded cap that holds a straight pin in place.  The cap will have two flat sides for turning with a wrench.  Remove the cap and and pin, then slide the prop off.  The cotter pin and nut style that was described earlier has a torque value you should be aware of when you put it back together.

  3. take any caps of the center of the prop then remove the split pin in the center of the nut  followed by the nut  .

    then the prop should pull strait off
