I have well water, and need a water softener just for the kitchen. My dishes always come out w/residue and I want to put one just in the kitchen for the dishes, but especially not in the bathroom, because I don't like the way it feels when I take a shower. how do i do this? And also what is the most inexpensive one to get?

  1. Usually the water line for the dishwasher is under the sink. Find the lead and shut of the valve . Then cut the line install your filter and return service as normall.

  2. I would go to your local home center (Lowes, Hone Depot, etc.) and ask someone in the plumbing department. Usually, water softeners are a part of the ENTIRE plumbing system of the house. However, there may be some sort of in-line filter you can buy that softens the water in only the line leading to the dishwasher.

  3. well first i have to buy the water softner that is minnie me size to fit under the sink .then i have to take everything out from under the sink and tap into the water line. but right now i dont have time to go to home depot .  lol hahaha. see you later
