How do I install a webcam on my Xp laptop?

I have an Xp laptop with one of those little tiny web cams on the top. The laptop's hard drive was just replaced so I no longer have the software for it, nor do I have the cd to install it with. If you can, please answer the following questions:

Is the software loaded from a cd or can I download it?

How do I get that software to install the web cam?

Do I need a specific kind that fits my pc?

Where (what store) could I find something that will install it?

How much might it cost?

look in the drivers section for your laptop on the manufacturer's website to find the appropriate drivers.
