  1. Find the closest switch or plug and fish a wire to it behind the drywall. Usually your 2x4 stud wal behind does not touch the cement foundation and you can fish a wire through with a bit of patience. If you attach to a switch then you have to remove the source wire from the switch and tie it to the new wire and a new short one back to the switch. Tie all the whites together. If this is not possible then you can get square conduit type track from a hardware store and surface run the wire. It must be in a conduit.

  2. my advice is call a elecrition u dont want to mess up the wireing

  3. You can use the "old work" box and fish a wire through the wall, but if you can't go thru the wall you could use "wire mold" on the out side of the wall by mounting the box and the wire-way then sticking it through the ceiling, (assuming you have a dropped ceiling in your basement) and then running the wire to the junction box.

  4. You must put in a cut in box. And fish your wire down to the box location. Beware they call it fishing for a reason it takes patients.

If you cannot easily get into your ceiling it will be tougher, and you will have to cut multiple holes back to the panel.

  5. Locate the outlet, locate the source of the power for the outlet, plan how you will get the wire from one point to the other. Pull the wire, install it in a "old work" box.  If you need help with this, call a qualified professional electrician. There are many subtle methods of installing this that they are trained to use.
