How do I install boxed speakers to an amp? I'm not sure which side to s***w the connectors into?

I have had an amp and rear/front speakers in my car for sometime. I recently went out and bought an additional set of boxed speakers to put in the trunk to give it a little better sound. I'm just not sure where I should wire the boxed speakers to. On the left side of the amp, there are a few different s***w holes that already have some items attached to them. On the right side, there are 4 screws and it is labeled "speaker level input". I tried to s***w the speakers into that but I got no sound from them. I have a 600 watt amp and at one time had a sub hooked up to it but have since taken it off and I can't remember where it was hooked up to. Can anyone help me out and let me know what I am doing wrong?

connect +ve of speaker to +ve of amp

connect -ve of speaker to -ve of amp

simple!
