I have sony xplod 6x9 speakers that I want to install into the rear but the 2-p connector will not fit on the positive and negative ends on the speakers. How can I adjust the 2-p connector so that it will fit onto the new speakers?

  1. get a manual

  2. splice them out.

  3. You change the conecters on the wires to fit the peakers.

  4. The Stock plugs will not, and should not plug into aftermarket speakers. You can buy adapters to avoid having to cut the harness off, or go the other route, first you need to know what wires are positive and which are negative. In your case they should be as follows:

    Left Rear (+)  Blue/Yellow

    Left Rear (-) Gray/White

    Right Rear (+) Red/Yellow

    Right Rear (-) Brown/White

Your new speakers should have come with a length of wire with 2 connectors on one end and bare wire on the other, They should have a big and small female connector, the small is negative the bigger is positive. Connect those to the terminals on the speaker, and then connect then splice the other ends to the appropriate colored wires at the factory harness. If your speakers didn't come with the wire, then you will need to either solder them to the terminals or buy the connectors.
