  1. Be careful! Pomeranians usually don't get along with cats. Has either pet been raised or socialized with the other species? If not, it may be very difficult to get them to get along, but it is possible! At first, keep them in separate rooms until they get used to the smells and sounds of each other. This may take a couple weeks, but don't push it. When they get used to this, have a trusted, calm, pet-loving adult hold the cat on their lap while you walk the dog into the room on a short leash. Repeat this until they get used to each other. Even after they appear to be getting along without one being leashed or otherwise contained, don't leave them alone together for the first few months. I know this seems like alot of work and time, but your patience will pay off. They should learn to tolerate if not love each other! One other tip is to make sure that each has a place to retreat from the other.

  2. If you can, have someone other than a person who lives in your house bring the dog over. If he is in a carrier leave him there and let the cat have a look. He may hiss and run away or he might just be curious. You may want to isolate the dog in it's own safe place for awhile and let them sniff under the door. You can do like you do when introducing cats and rub the dog with a cloth and let the cat sniff it and visa versa. Keep the dog on a leash then and bring him out to check out the house and the cat. Give the cat lots of extra attention to make sure he knows he's not being replaced. Make sure you don't leave them alone together until you know they will get along. Good LUck
