Im a guy a basically know nothing about hair. I have neck length, dry, frizzy hair and sometimes I feel like making it straight. I use a conditioner when i wash my hair, dry it and iron it. Its wonderful when I have it straight but when I decide to wash my hair again, I notice that it feels much thinner and dryer. Then it takes about a week for it to return to normal? How do I straiten my hair so it doesnt get damaged?

  1. there isn't really a way to do this unless you buy this special striaghtener called the steam styler.

    It's by California Beauty,

and it does not damage your hair because the smoke coming out of it isn't your hair's oils evaporating, it's steam that comes from the water in a special chamber you have to fill first. The chamber is very small and once you fill it up, the steam can run for up to an hour. It nourishes and moisturizes hair with the power of steam, instead of drying it out. An added bonus is that it can striaghten your hair while it's wet, thus cutting styling time in half. Search it on google and include the word Thane. I think that's the ordering company. Hope this helps.

  2. Here is an instructional video that I think will help you flat iron your hair properly:

    Sometimes visuals are better!

  3. Try to get serums and leave in conditioners to help your hair and repair the damage or the shampoo and conditioner for damaged or processed hair. Also try using moose in between straightening your hair to give it a break.

  4. use protecting serum when you straighten your hair and it wont get damaged. also get a good straightener (over $150).

or go to a hair salon and get a straight perm. but go to a good salon so they do it right!

  5. Unfortunately cheaper straighteners tend to damage hair more. Make sure you're using a ceramic plated iron. It will help out a lot. As someone who straightens their hair almost every single day I have invested in a CHI. I definitely notice the difference, but they're not cheap. If you're someone who is willing to spend the money and want to flat iron often, I would definitely recommend a CHI. But if not, a cheaper one is fine as long as it is ceramic.

Also, spray your hair with a heat defense spray before drying/styling. I would also recommend Vo5 Extreme Style Heat Defense Conditioning Spray. It's only 4 bucks, and you can get it at any drugstore.

    Hope I helped! Good luck!

  6. By iron I hope you mean hair straighteners! Using a clothing iron would absolutely destroy your hair! You need to wash and dry your hair so it's not even damp at all then put in a heat protectent then straiten your hair little bit by bit. I would also recommend a leave in treatment.
