  1. i'd say get a bb gun.

  2. Buy a jar of jalopena peppers. The kind that are sliced. Open the jar, sprinkle them on the lids, inside the can and around the base. Racoons go bye-bye. I had a skunk problem and a neighbor told me to use jalopenas. The animal is dumb enough to eat it....once. It got rid of my skunks. One bite and they never came back. It doesn't harm them but they sure feel the burn.

  3. There is a type of spray that you can put on your trash bins to keep the animals away. The way it works is that it has the smell of some sort of big predator and the animals will stay away.

  4. Keep the trash cans inside your garage.  Or buy metal trash cans.

  5. spray bleach on the garbage bag....works for my grandma =-]

  6. This might be redundant, but get both a metal can, and a large plastic can. Keep your garbage in the metal can, with the lid on. Place that can inside the larger plastic can, and keep the lid on that. On garbage day, take the metal can out and leave it on the curb. This way, the metal can would keep the scent out, and the plastic can offers more protection. Hopefully that'll do the trick.
