How do I keep raccoons out of my garden? I found one in there today eating my corn, I have a chicken wire fence around my garden and our yard is inclosed with a wooden fence, but it climbed the fence anyway. Is there some kind of spray or something to keep them out?

  1. take away the welcome mat..

  2. sprinkle some cayenne pepper around your garden

  3. If you see a raccoon during the day, stay away from it. Raccoons are nocturnal animals. Most raccoons seen during the day have rabies. Call your animal control to come and take care of it. Other than that, get a big dog. Make sure it has its rabies shots!

  4. My whole class had to come up with their own unique, silent, harmless way of catching or scaring off only raccoons. Bummer I can't remember any of them! Good luck.

    EDIT,

Oh! Coyote urine is suppose to keep them away?

  5. leave food outside ur neighbour's house so they go there haha =]

  6. I have heard that a few mason jars-each with something shiny inside-around the perimenter will keep the raccoons so distracted they wont be thinking about food. They supposedly try over and over to get the shiny stuff out of the jar. I have raised a raccoon from a baby and I know that any time he sees anything shiny-keys, tin foil ect.-that becomes his only focus.
