How do I keep a pokemon from evolving?

I need to have a lvl 40 machop, but he normally evolves at lvl 28

If you have a Pearl or diamond game go underground and after awhile you will find an Everstone just give it to your machop and he will not evolve.

If you have another game youll have to give it to him when you find it or keep pressing b when it evolves( Note: it will try to evolve after every lvl up) SO I SUGGEST YOU TRY AND FIND AN Everstone

To keep a pokemon from evolving, you can have it hold an everstone, or when it says that it's about to evolve, just press B and the pokemon will stop evolving. :]
