Question:

How do I keep a puzzle together?

I just finished this huge 750-piece puzzle, and I was wondering about how to keep the pieces together so that I could hang it up on my wall. I heard that a good method would be to flip it upside down and glue a poster board on the back of the puzzle, so that all the pieces would be attached. I think that flipping the puzzle over without starting over would almost be impossible. What should I do? I also heard that there's a type of glue that you can buy to put on top of the puzzle to make them stick together... but someone said that it can cause the puzzle to curl up... and, obviously, I don't want that. I think that putting it in a frame is inconvenient too... it's a round puzzle, and I think it would be hard to find a frame that is that size.

  1. put clear plastic wrap on the picture side

    turn it over gently

    tape the back

    and frame it

  2. Recently, I used this method:  carefully lay press-n-seal wrap over the front, pressing it to adhere it to the puzzle, then slide a large cardboard piece underneath, flip it over carefully and use clear packing tape or clear contact paper all over the back of teh puzzle to keep it together, then flip it back over and remove the press-n-seal wrap.  Glue can seep through the pieces leaving the front looking sloppy.

  3. put it in a flat surface and cover w/ clear plastic

  4. 1st, congratulations on your immense patience!  I'm a puzzle person, too.  I take newspaper and slide it carefully under the puzzle.  Some pieces may come dislodged, but, not many if done slowly.  Then, I take Elmer's glue, or even the glue for 2/$1 at the Dollar Store and completely cover the puzzle.  Put your had right in it and all the nooks and crannies will get a taste.  Then, let dry.  take sizzors and go along the outside and trim the paper back.  I've done this loads of times and it dries clear and not one has ever come undone.  Good luck and happy puzzeling!

  5. fram it. or turn it over and glue it.

  6. turn it over and use puzzle glue. you can get it at walmart. and then put it in aframe after it dries.
