lol, ok so last night my sister and I went to sleep and we were talking about scary bug stories; next thing you know there is a tick in her bed!! We're total city girls so it was a hasel to fall asleep since we both were panicing about any other bugs inside of the guest bedroom. We had no way to kill the bugs since there wasnt any bug spray and ontop of that the residue bug sprays leave behind isnt so pleasent. If anyone knows anything about keeping bugs out of our home, please help!! [i guess if u recommend any specific sprays that are unnatural, thatsz ok too; i mean we ought to carry some type of bugspray around, right?]

  1. GET RID OF:

    House moths, the unwelcome guests.

Additional protection can be provided by placing muslin bags in your closets filled with combinations of dried, aromatic herbs and essential oils such as tansy, peppermint, rosemary, eucalyptus, cedar, sage, thyme, cinnamon and clove.

Mosquitoes and black fly take wing!

Dilute 1oz essential oil of pennyroyal in 16oz vegetable oil to effectively repel mosquitoes.

    Keeping houseplants bug-free.

Infected houseplants often respond well to a strained spray of water blended with a few fresh cloves of garlic.

  2. Supposedly Listerine mouth wash is a good bug repellent. Not sure about how it would work for killing bugs.

  3. I have heard of people planting marigold flowers or garlic outside under their windows and planting dill weed or rosemary outside by their doors to ward off insects, such as mosquitos, ants, and beetles.

Another good idea is to fill clear plastic bags with water and hang them from trees or from the awnings of your roof.  They scare away flies!  You have to clean off the bags when they get dusty in order to keep the magnifying and reflective properties of the water filled bags going.
