How do I keep explorer.exe from making copies of itself?

Question

I'm currently using a custom explorer2.exe right now. I want to delete the original explorer.exe, so that I can rename my current one to explorer.exe, but it keeps reproducing itself when I delete it.

The reason why I want to change it to the original name is so that it doesn't have problems with other programs, if i need to install something in the future.

explorer.exe is a system file and it will be recreated automatically. so i dont see an alternative to this one...
