How do I keep focus on my school?

I am home schooled so i can't go to a library or anything to keep focus. So I'm home all day. What do I do???

  1. Try unschooling, then you can focus on what is important to you.  If you choose it, then your interest will keep you focused.  

    I'm not sure why you can't go to a library, unless you are too far away.  I'm hoping you are home all day by choice, not force.  Many homeschoolers are out and about all day, including library trips, but to each his own.

  2. I usually let my homework go until a week before the quarter is finished, then I bulk it up and usually end up with an A or B. This is due to no point minus-ing on late work. :D So you need to buckle down at some point I believe, just up to you what works for you. I personally can't stand doing weekly work, I need to do it all and finish it all, no information soaking for me.

  3. Well try to talk to your mom or dad whoever is with you at home and tell them this and they can most likely help you out

  4. Why can't you go to a library?  My suggestion is to NOT do your school work in your bed room!  I get SO distracted by the DVD sitting on the dresser... the basket of laundry by the door... the make-up on the shelf...

    Try doing one subject, then a 15 minute break, then another subject, then 15 minute break.  I have to read my lessons out loud to myself or I get distracted by my thoughts. (lol) Also, try eating before you start school, on the days I eat bananas for breakfast I seem to concentrate better. (or maybe it's a mind game I'm playing with myself)  Don't tell yourself 'When I'm done, I can play X-Box' because that is usually distracting in itself.

    Do you have brothers or sisters who are homeschooled?  Try doing school with them in the room.  It will either motivate you to stay on task, or you'll just goof around together. (doing school with my siblings in the room is IMPOSSIBLE!)

  5. Make a schedule and stick to it. Take timed breaks. Go for a couple short walks and eat healthy meals.
