  1. Try your local unemployment office. Maybe they would know of some sort of program that helps inmates reintegrate into society.

Or you could ask your probation officer for help. They would seem to be best suited to give that kind of advice.

  2. Well, it would certainly help us if we knew what your past crime was. If it was embezzlement then that would be different than murder don't you think? Are you on parole or probation? Either way, talk with your parole officer/ probation officer and see if they can be of any assistance. If you go back to crime, you are just perpetuating the stereotype. Good luck.

  3. Apply at construction companies.  I understand most don't even do background checks.

  4. construction, or find a family friend to give you a chance.  you made your choices, so now you have to live with it.

  5. yes you paid your time. but you need to proved to the society that you have change and are ready to look ahead. we did not put you there. and yes someone will help you. if you want it.  you have to keep looking. and when you find it  grap it and prove to them that you are a hard worker. that's all you will need. to prove yourself. the opportunity is open. it is up to you now. go and face it

  6. I am on parole right now, I know how difficult it is.  I started my own business and it is going great.  Also, you have to keep looking, someone WILL hire you if you have skills. You have a degree? Good for you! You have to keep trying! If you return to crime and get caught, you will sit there at intake and think "It wasn't worth it".  We have all had that thought "it wasn't worth it".  Nothing is worth your freedom. And they will lock you up for a longer time.  The judge will not care why you did it.

  7. Yes, you do deserve another opportunity. If no-one will hire you than why not set up your own business as a gardner or a window cleaner? All you need to do is buy a mower and drop round some cheap flyers - you don't have to even mention your past. Be careful to work out how to pay tax and to remember to do so. Doing this can pay better than going to Taco Bell or BK or something like that, just do a good job and be quick, clean and polite and people will want to hire you. Before long, you will be a professional businessman.

  8. Number one.  You put yourself in this position.

Number two.  You don't need a Program to rehab, you have to develop a new/positive mind set.

Number three.Society owes you Zip, Nada,. You have to figure it out. Talk to potential employers as if you want to perform a job not be another test case. Take an entry level job and move up from there.  If undocumented aliens can get jobs, so can you.  In short, don't be a loser.
